It’s obvious, right? After Gabby Windey’s hometown dates on the most recent episode of The Bachelorette, it’s clear as daylight who leads the pack…and it’s not Jason or Johnny.

No offense to either guy, who both seem great, but Jason told his mom that he can’t see himself getting engaged even if he’s the last man standing, which is something Gabby wants. And while Johnny’s all in, he’s not Erich.

Speaking of Erich, I can’t remember a more emotional hometown date in the history of the show, which saw the real estate analyst introduce Gabby to his mom and dad, grandparents, and sister. Normally the standout would have been Erich’s grandpa, who watched Gabby on The Bachelor, and probably would be best friends with Gabby’s grandpa, but in this case, it was Erich’s dad, Allan. The patriarch has been battling terminal cancer (and sadly, according to the tribute at end of the show, passed away recently), but he courageously found the strength and will to meet the woman who could be his son’s future bride. Erich’s mom has also been an incredible pillar of support and strength, and it was obvious that that familial bond resonated with Gabby.

Of course, we won’t know until a couple weeks which two men Gabby chooses for the fantasy suite dates (unless she doesn’t eliminate anyone heading into Mexico), but it’s pretty clear Erich has her head and her heart.

Still, there’s a lot of time left in the ICU nurse’s reality show journey, and based on the previews it’s not smooth sailing (as if it would be). Ahead of next week’s Men Tell All, Gabby opened up about overcoming her greatest fear, what happens if she or Rachel get engaged, but not both, and what’s next. Read on.
