It’s no surprise that the cosmetics industry wants to help men hide signs of aging too (hey, cash is cash). But Joe Jonas as a spokesperson for an “aesthetic treatment” was not a choice I saw coming. Wasn’t he just wearing a purity ring on Disney Channel?

The former boy bander opened up about his new gig on August 16. “I personally care a lot about what I put in my body, and with an aesthetic treatment like this, I wanted to be mindful of what was in it,” the father-of-two told People about his new partnership with Xeomin, “a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrow,” per the company’s website.

According to the article, the product has a “uniquely purified formula that removes unnecessary proteins,” which I had no idea was a problem a person could have. Too much protein in my face! Whoops?

Jonas added that he “tackled” a scar between his eyebrows and some frown lines which gave him a “confidence boost” (not super healthy but often unavoidable to get confidence from your appearance…) and what I’m getting at here is that the man is 33 years old.

Thirty. Three.

“I liked that it relieved the area a little bit and I was like, ‘Okay, this is great,’ without it being too much for my liking,” said Jonas, adding, “I appreciated that it wasn’t over the top. It’s very light.” No kidding! 33!
