This weekend Kylie Jenner has been posting a series of pictures to Instagram in run up to her 25th birthday on August 10.
In the first captioned “buckle up buttercup,” she wore a Marine Serre Red Line Couture dress made from up-cycled denim belts which hails from the Spring 2023 collection.
My first thought was that this feels very much like a Cardi B dress.
The dress is beautifully constructed, and I love how the abundance of grommets, buckles and other embellishments do not feel unreasonable as this appeals to the ‘more is more’ maximalist in me.
The beauty mogul was spotted leaving the Sexy Fish restaurant in London wearing an Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2022 Haute Couture cobalt blue embossed leather coat accented with faux fur trims which she styled with the runway matching pointed-toe lace-up sandals.
I adore the colour, but the size of the coat is a bit comical on someone so petite.
I have a feeling that this would’ve worked better on Rihanna. Her aura would’ve helped fill that space.
For a night out at London nightclub Tape with her boyfriend Travis Scott, Kylie opted for another vintage moment.
She wore a silver chainmail Paco Rabanne Fall 1997 chainmail hooded halter-neck top – which ironically is also 25 years old.
The nostalgic look was styled with a pair of mixed-denim patchwork jeans.
I can’t say I’m usually enamoured by patchwork jeans, but they work for me with this look, mostly because they were also a trend of the ‘90s, and the colours complemented the top.
Of the three, I would say the Paco Rabanne outing was my favourite from head-to-toe.
