Zooey Deschanel made her Venice Film Festival debut for the ‘Dreamin’ Wild’ photocall on Wednesday (September 7) in Italy.
I know that some of you consider Zooey a bit of a twee fashion icon, but I will never not be charmed by her style, especially when she goes maximalist like she did with this Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda white laser-cut lace dress from the 2012 Archive collection.
Yes, there is a lot going on with the exaggerated sleeves and skirt, plus the multi-colour floral embellishment which looks like a flourishing bouquet.
But if there is one person who can sell this look to me, it is Zooey.
The Dolce & Gabbana painted box clutch and Dolce & Gabbana pink embellished Mary-Jane pumps will push this into OTT territory for a lot of people, but the accessories made this even more enchanting for me.
The only thing I would’ve changed is her hairstyle (despite this being her signature style), as it slightly feels like it is competing with the exaggerated shoulders.
