The ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ premiere took place on the closing night of the 2022 London Film Festival on Sunday (October 16) with Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Gwendoline Christie, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr. and Daniel Craig in attendance.
Much like the Toronto Film Festival, Janelle Monáe totally stole the show and this time she wasn’t wearing Haute Couture.
The actress-singer wore a red Christian Siriano Spring 2023 dress with a peplum that was double the size of her hat.
I love that she appears to be stepping outside the black-and-white bubble she created for herself for so long, and how she stayed true to her larger-than-life style personality.
However, some might feel that for an ensemble cast that this was perhaps a little too much.
Which side of the fence are you sitting on?
Kate Hudson wore a Saint Laurent duo colour dress with an oversize animal-free fur coat.
I know one day I’m going to have to shake it off, but I really struggle with Kate Hudson in dark colours.
The colours are perfect, and I must stress perfect for both the season and location.
I can’t see her wearing this dress in California at all. So maybe my real issue is that I wish the dress had been all chocolate brown.
Jessica Henwick wore an Atelier Versace look.
If you feel that this look was a little overkill. You’re not alone.
I think I would’ve been on board with the netted, embroidered top and the high-waisted trousers, but the skirt felt like one thing too many with this look.
I think Versace should’ve gone with the trousers or designed this to be a gown.
There is something about Madelyn Cline’s Tom Ford off-the-shoulder draped organza ruffle gown which would have me pulling it up all night.
Perhaps the way it is sitting is just an illusion.
Gwendoline Christie walked the runway for Thom Browne’s Spring 2023 show, so it was only a matter of time before she wore a look from the designers collection.
Personally. I would rather she had worn the look she walked the runway in than this. It does nothing for her. She looks like she’s swamped in fabric which is some feat for someone as tall as she is.
And I think she knows this hence the hand placements to give this dress some shape.
Kathryn Hahn wore an off-the-shoulder Rabih Kayrouz look.
I’m gonna guess that Leslie Odom Jr. wore Prada.
Daniel Craig was back to his classic best in this midnight blue suit.
