As creative industries continue to explore the relationship between identity and technology, artists and designers alike are expanding their practice into alternative, imaginative realms. And in keeping with the industry’s wider exploration of the Metaverse, Australian designer Dion Lee is set to unveil their first NFT digital clothing collection, ‘Dion Lee Code: Façade,’ on October 18. The exclusive drop is composed of 5 digital garments designed by Lee and digitally transformed through the genius of NFT artist Sam Walker.

‘Dion Lee Code: Façade’ is an exploration of the construct of identity—gender-fluid, semi-sheer lace garments are embodied digitally and remain in keeping with Lee’s razor-sharp ready-to-wear vision. Throughout the collection, silicone, waved lace interplays with a matching form-fitting, contour corset and lace trousers. While elsewhere, lace continues to shine with a blue hooded tank top paired with printed denim.

The collection is set to launch in partnership with MA+ Creative and will be available on the cryptocurrency platform Web3. A percentage of all proceeds will go to the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistant Project, or WRRAP, non-profit organization that provides access to safe, legal abortions and emergency contraceptives.
