Model Emira D’Spain is a girl on the go—you only have to look at her TikTok to understand her chaotic lifestyle: Date with her sugar daddy by day, walking the runway by night. In the midst of fashion shows and campaigns, D’Spain has her model skin care routine down to a science: embracing the “glauuuuur”— her signature Austalian catchphrase her 1.1 million followers have come to know and love.
Like most millennials, D’Spain grew up online—first as an internet adolescent making beauty content as XOXOETHAN turned XOXOEMIRA, and later as a content creator known for her “Get Ready With Me” videos filled with hilarious commentary and style tips that earned her a spot as Victoria’s Secret’s first Black trans model in their 2022 Valentines Day campaign.
When it comes to beauty, D’Spain is all about dewy and glowing skin (she’s one of the reasons you still can’t get your hands on Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Pinkgasm’ wand) and relies on a lineup of hydrating skin care to keep her face plump and moisturized.

“If your skin does not look greasy before you begin doing anything, you’re not doing it right,” D’Spain tells Glamour. “I have the driest skin in New York City. It’s like the Sahara Desert.” As a result, she’s fully embraced her inner It-girl model, perfecting her off-duty regiment to rival Hailey Bieber’s ultra glossy glazed donut skin.
Ahead, Emira D’Spain shares her glowy skin care products for Glamour’s Drop the Routine.
My cleanser
I’m obsessed with the First Aid Beauty cleanser. When I went off of it, my skin went to shit. It’s so gentle, I think you could put it on a baby and the baby would be glowing. It’s that good.
My serum
I have so many serums. This feels like picking a favorite child, but if I could only do a few, I would use the Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum from Glow Recipe or the Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc serum. I keep all of them in my fridge along with the rest of my moisturizers and eye creams.
My moisturizer
Tatcha’s dewy skin cream, always. I’ve put so many friends on that one. When I want to get more fancy and do eye cream, I’ll layer on the Kiehl’s creamy avocado under-eye cream or the La Mer eye concentrate. I mostly use the La Mer one at night on its own, and the Kiehl’s cream in the day under my makeup.
My spot treatments
I used to have really, really bad cystic acne, and although I don’t have deep scarring, I do have a few dark spots I’ll try to conceal with fake freckles or things like that. Whenever I have a breakout, I use those Korean pimple patches you can get from Amazon and they have saved my life.
My sunscreen
I’m obsessed with the Live Tinted sunscreen. I’m brown and most sunscreens are not brown girl friendly because of the white cast. There’s a couple of other tinted sunscreens I love, especially when doing a no-makeup-makeup look, but the Live Tinted one is the winner.
My chapstick
I have the craziest story—have you ever heard of Bag Balm? My friend told me this because she’s from Vermont, but apparently Bag Balm was originally used on cow utters. The utters were getting chapped and it was harder for them to produce milk. The farmer’s wives noticed how soft the farmers’ hands were from using Bag Balm all the time, so they started using it on their legs and lips and elbows. So anyways, that’s my forever and always product.
