Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have garnered more press post-breakup than they did during the seven years of their actual relationship, and there’s been plenty of back-and-forth about who’s making who look bad. But on the issue of their former nanny’s latest claims, the exes have formed a united front.

In an interview published in the Daily Mail on October 17, the former couple’s ex-nanny claimed that Sudeikis was blindsided by Wilde’s relationship with Harry Styles, whom she met on the set of her latest film, Don’t Worry Darling. However, in a joint statement to People, Wilde and Sudeikis call her claims “false and scurrilous.”

“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly,” they said. “Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex.”

“We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”

Among the nanny’s “scurrilous” claims was that Sudeikis was so upset over the breakup that at one point he lay down in front of Wilde’s car so that she couldn’t leave to visit Styles. The nanny also said that Sudeikis was especially heartbroken after seeing Wilde make Styles a salad with her “special dressing.”

In a September interview with Vanity Fair, Wilde denied that she left Sudeikis for Styles. “The complete horseshit idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely inaccurate,” she said. “Our relationship was over long before I met Harry.”

Wilde and Sudeikis met in 2011 and began dating shortly after. They announced their split in November 2020. The exes have two children together—eight-year-old Otis and five-year-old Daisy—who I’m assuming have a new nanny, hopefully one with an iron-clad NDA.
