Cardi B just showed off the face tattoo she had done in August.
Back in January, the “WAP” rapper floated the idea of getting her son’s name, Wave, permanently inked on her face. “Random but …. I’m 1% close to tatting my son’s name on my face….I really really wanna do it,” she tweeted at the time, adding that she wanted the tattoo on her jaw. However, by the time she pulled the trigger in August, it was unclear if she had changed her mind about what the face tattoo would actually be.
At the time, a TikTok video went viral that appeared to feature Cardi B having the letter “N” tattooed on her jaw in red ink. The final result, which was shared on a fan’s Instagram page, was even less clear. However, in September Cardi B confirmed that she had her son’s name tattooed on her face in an Instagram Live. “I tatted my son’s name because I love him,” she said before showing the “Kulture” bicep tattoo, adding, “and I tatted my daughter’s name.”
On November 17, Cardi B finally posted a clear photo of the fully healed reddish-brown “Wave” tattoo on her jawline, as well as her ultra-long lavender manicure.
Cardi B shares four-year-old Kulture and 14-month-old Wave with her husband Offset. The Migos rapper has three other children from previous relationships.
After welcoming their second child in September 2021, the couple waited seven months to share his name with fans. “We went through a lot of sad things when it comes to Kulture—terrible behavior that not even the older kids have ever been through. So many people will post mean, disgusting things, just to get a reaction from us,” Cardi B explained to Essence. “We want to protect our feelings because we get very, very angry and upset.”
