This week I have been keeping an eye on the new Spring arrivals and thinking about what I might want to add to my own capsule wardrobes as well as those of you I create them for. There are definitely some key pieces and colors that I see regularly, so I’ve created a capsule wardrobe (well, two, actually) to highlight them. As the posts where I have given you designer and budget options have been so popular, I’ve found what I would really like to buy – but in most cases can’t – and a high street alternative. Obviously, you can mix and match them, too, and there are a few great bargains in the budget option.

So first, the designer pieces:

The casual jacket that could also go to a relaxed office. It’s the details that make it fresh for Spring, in this case, the waterfall front and leather sleeves.

The shirt dress – dress up with heels or, as I have done in the outfit pictures below, down with ankle boots or trainers.

The long cardigan is in a fine knit, and in this case in what is a key color; you will find everywhere a warm and soft green – Olive, Khaki, or Moss.

The classic V-neck lightweight knit in a neutral tone to see you through to summer.

The drawstring trouser (green again) looks great with the knit and casual shoes, or wear them with one of the silk shirts and a pair of heels for a relaxed dinner.

The suede skirt – high maintenance in a light color but stunning when blended with other muted shades.

The Chelsea boot – the two must-have brands are Isabel Marant, as shown here, or Acne’s Jensen but you can find plenty of interpretations on the high street for well under their $350+ price point. Worn with dresses and skirts as well as trousers, it may be time to start thinking about adding some color to your legs!

The print shirt – and of course, in a muted green print (those of you who can’t wear this green might be pretty fed up with it by the end of the season!)

The silk relaxed shirt – the one to buy if you have the funds is from Equipment, seen everywhere left open low and with (or without for the daring) a cami underneath.

The white or off-white trainer – the two designer buys to look for are Golden Goose as shown here or Common Projects. However, the budget version from Mango below looks just as good.

And, of course, I added a scarf!

And below the budget equivalents, which I think are pretty good alternatives. In particular, the bag, which is reduced from $99 to $29, the suede boots at $62, and the trousers, which are incredibly similar to the designer pair but at $15, are $340 cheaper than the designer version!
