Even so, Georgia changes a lot this season, which a welcome development given how dysfunctional her relationship with her kids can be. “One of favorite parts about the season is that Ginny asks for help and it gets acknowledged that it’s okay to not be okay,” Howey says. “And that is a tool that Georgia hasn’t learned quite yet because her toolbox is very limited. She’s never had parental figures or even adult figures that she could trust. And that’s where Georgia starts to learn a lot from Ginny. We start to see Georgia have some seeds of self-awareness as to how she’s controlling everyone and everything.”

Ahead, Howey walks us through her tried-and-true skin care routine that keeps her glowing and breakout-free, including the $5 lip balm that she swears by on and off-screen. Read on for Glamour‘s latest edition of Drop the Routine

My cleanser

I alternate between Revision Skincare Brightening Facial Wash and Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser. Revision’s is a foaming cleanser that I just love. It’s super clean and brightening. But then also when I’m breaking out a little bit more, I use the Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser. It’s milkier. I don’t know why that works if I’m more congested, but it’s a dream. I leave it on for 30 seconds or a minute, and there’s a slight cooling sensation. It just does wonders and I’m cleared up really fast. And I also use Burt’s Bees towelettes for sensitive skin to help take off that first layer of makeup.

My toner/essence

I like using this HydroPeptide toner. It’s just refreshing, and I feel like it balances everything. It gets rid of some redness, plus it’s collagen boosting. A little goes a long way. And I have the Biologique Recherche P50 that says lotion, but I use it as a toner. Also, La Mer has one that it calls a lotion that is way heavier than the P50 and totally different, The Treatment Lotion La Mer. I don’t always have to put something on after that. I use it more as a silky toner.

My serum

Under Skin’s Desire Sculpt Serum. They sell it at Ava M.D. And then also SkinCeuticals Blemish and Age Defense Serum, where if I am also feeling congested I pop her on too. And also the La Mer Concentrate. I love using her. It feels very luxurious and a little goes so far.

My moisturizer

I’m all about the Eminence Organics, right now. They’re really working. I see the results really fast. They have a really simple Stone Crop Whip Moisturizer that’s just really light, which I use during the day. And then I’ll use La Mer at nighttime for something thicker and heavier.

My face oil

Drunk Elephant oil. She’s just an amazing go-to. I feel like I can even use it in the summer when it’s hot and I don’t feel like I’m overly oily or overly moist.

My eye cream

Under Skin has that duo that I love for morning and night. The results are just so fast. But then if I’m drier, I use La Mer the Eye Concentrate. I love the little wand. Also, Skyn Iceland has those micro patches and I use them all the time. But they have these microneedle ones that help with dark circles. And Chantecaille’s eye patches. They feel so good.

My face mask

I like the Drunk Elephant hydro mask, the blue one. I was using that nonstop in Toronto and now that it’s colder. And then the Eminence Organic Probiotic Face Masque, that kind of goes with the face wash. I’ve been using that almost every night just to help keep my skin clear.

My spot treatment

It’s very simple. Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion, and the Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion. I take them everywhere with me. I probably use them every day. I probably use it too much. I love it.

My face mist

I didn’t discover Caudalie until I was in Paris this summer. Obsessed. I use it too much. I go through a bottle every two weeks. She smells so good. My girlfriend also swears by it for hangovers.

My sunscreen

I love the Drunk Elephant Tinted Sunscreen because I don’t like putting makeup on after I have the sunscreen on. So a tinted sunscreen is always my favorite. I’m also fair, so I love anything that can help. And then Supergoop!’s Unseen Sunscreen. I’ve never had a bad reaction.

My lip balm

Very simple. Burt’s Bees, again tinted. I used the color ones, especially Daisy. We actually do use them a lot for Georgia, because she always has so much color on all the time. But I was using them before that anyway. I also feel like I don’t have to reapply as much as I would with some other [lip balms]. And also Dr. PAWPAW which is just phenomenal and easy. I discovered that in Australia, which is also here. I love it. And you can put anywhere.

My devices

I have a Clarisonic that I use all the time. It helps cut my routine down. And a facial steamer. I have a Vanity Planet one. After five minutes, it really reduces fine lines. You’re just plumper, smoother. It’s like living somewhere humid without having to live somewhere humid. And it has a cold mist option to help close the pores too.
