View the 28th annual Critics’ Choice Awards best dressed.

Only a few days after the Golden Globes, celebrities were back on the red carpet for the 28th Critics’ Choice Awards. Hosted by Chelsea Handler for the first time in four years taking after Taye Diggs, at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on January 15th, 2023, this event valued the best cinematic pictures from tv shows to movies. From Gucci to Oscar de la Renta to Vera Wang, designer gowns were out in full force on this year’s carpet.

Janelle Monae was certainly dressed for the occasion as she entered the red carpet with a bang in a custom Vera Wang Chiffon ruffled gown. Honored for her work, the world was moved by Monae’s speech as she shared her personal experiences as well as words of wisdom.

Amanda Seyfried glistened on the carpet wearing a Dior Haute Couture Dress which was quite the shift from her 2021 Critics’ Choice Award outfit where she opted for a Miu Miu suit. The gold just off-the-shoulder dress made a comeback from initially appearing in Dior’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection and was paired with iconic jewels from Cartier.

Sparkles seemed to be a common theme of the night as Kate Hudson shimmered in an Oscar de la Renta tulip bead and fringe gown from the brand’s spring 2023 collection. Adding even more shine, Hudson dressed her arms and ears in Bulgari as she presented Janelle Monae with her SeeHer award.

Julia Roberts walked the red carpet in a custom Schiaparelli gown that was quite historic. The gown was embellished with embroidered sun rays and inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli’s Appollo of Versailles cape from 1938, showing the delicacy of the gown. Her fingers were dressed up with rings by Chopard.
