Is it too early to start talking about Rihanna’s Super Bowl ’fits? Nah.

On February 9, Rihanna attended a press conference for the upcoming Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show in Phoenix wearing a sexy Alaïa look fresh off the runway. First shown during the brand’s spring 2023 ready-to-wear show at Paris Fashion Week in January, Rihanna wore Alaïa’s shearling aviator jacket with a double-high-slit crocodile jacquard knit skirt that perfectly displayed her thigh-high strappy sandals.

Keeping her hair pulled back with face-framing strands left loose, Rihanna went for a simple glowy makeup look with a bold red lip and matching manicure. She topped off her ensemble with Messika rings and dramatic Maria Tash earrings.

“When I first got the call to do it again this year I was like, ‘Are you sure? I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this,’” Rihanna said regarding her return to the stage after a seven-year hiatus, per Variety. “When you become a mom there’s something that happens where you feel like you can take on the world and can do anything. The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world. As scary as it was, because I haven’t been on stage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. It’s important for me to do this year. It’s important for my son to see that.”

Rihanna also told reporters that the set list for the Super Bowl halftime show changed around 39 times, but that they’ve done a “pretty good job” of narrowing down her body of work into 13 minutes. Regarding new music, Rihanna is feeling “open,” saying, “I’m feeling open to exploring, discovering, creating things that are new, things that are different, things that are off, weird. Might not ever make sense to my fans…. I want to have fun with music.”
