Cut out dress

Looking at Marsai Martin, Chloe Bailey, and Skai Jackson, I’m starting to think that it was Tessa Thompson who didn’t get the dress code which required cut-outs for the ‘Creed III’ LA premiere on Monday (February 27).

Marsai Martin wore a Giambattista Valli Spring 2023 Haute Couture gold draped lamé halter neck gown with twisted cut-out bodice which she styled with black Santoni sandals.

Since you weren’t fans of her NAACP Image Awards gown, I think you’ll be less likely to get on board with this one.

Personally, I love the dress, but I didn’t like the shoes she selected.

Black cut out dress

At times I feel like I could get on board with Chloe Bailey’s style if she would stop trying so hard.

There is never a feeling of effortlessness, and this Dion Lee Spring 2023 cut-out dress is a classic example of that.

Skai Jackson

Skai Jackson fared much better in her Nensi Dojaka Fall 2022 dress.  Even though her PVC sandals make her look like she’s gone barefoot, I feel like this is a much more successful and sophisticated outing in a cut-out dress than Chloe.

You may remember that Michelle Dockery wore this same dress to the ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’ world premiere back in April last year.

And then we have Storm Reid who is by far the best dressed on this post wearing head-to-toe Prada.

From the tailoring to the mesh bra, the marriage of chic and sexy is far more appealing to me.

With all Serena Williams’ access, this fuchsia gown was a little…dare I say cheap?

And where is the support?
