Millie Bobby Brown

For the majority of the last decade, we have seen Millie Bobby Brown and the rest of the young cast of Stranger Things grow up before our eyes. When the series first premiered in 2016, most of the actors playing the lead roles were just preteens. Now, in their late teens and early twenties, it’s safe to assume that they are ready for the next chapter of their lives, and MBB herself is making that sentiment loud and clear.

In a new interview, the 19-year-old actor admitted she’s “ready” to bid farewell to her time as Eleven on the hit Netflix series, which is gearing up to film its fifth and final season.

“I’m definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now, and we know of it, it’s been in our lives for a very long time. But I’m very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones up,” Millie recently told Seventeen, adding that, though she’s ready to move on, she will always be “really grateful” for the show.

That said, she might have to wait a little bit longer. Though the Duffer Brothers announced Stranger Things would end with season 5 in early 2022, MBB’s costar Finn Wolfhard recently teased that the final season of Stranger Things won’t actually arrive until 2025.

“By the time it comes out, I will be 22, I think, and I started working on the show at 12. That is insane,” Finn recently said in a video for GQ, hinting at a 2025 release. (Though Netflix has yet to announce an official release date, this is one of the many nuggets we know about Stranger Things 5 so far.) As noted by SeventeenStranger Things 5 is reportedly set to begin filming in June 2023, so taking post-production time into consideration, Finn’s calculations are probably right.
