Trendy sneakers are Hailey Bieber’s wardrobe MVP. While she has many go-to brands for offbeat silhouettes and out-of-the-box colorways, the supermodel is a certified Nike sneaker fan. While she’s been spotted in Air Force 1s, Air Max 97s, the Nike Air Max Essential Ying Yangs, and many more, Bieber’s dedication to Nike footwear reached its peak when she was spotted in L.A. on March 27 in Nike’s Air Max 95s.
While she also had on a Martine Rose Shrunken sports jacket, a Y/Project mini skirt, and Courreges’ techno sunglasses, it was the Nike Air Maxes that delivered an aspirational sporty, chic aesthetic. Thus, the 95s might just be our latest favorite in her Nike shoe collection.
Designed by Sergio Lozano, the sneakers come in a predominantly silver colorway with black and slightly off-white accents. They feature a leather and textile upper, a rubber outsole, and the Nike Air cushioning for which the iconic line is known. The most unique feature of these shoes is that they have toggle laces that make it easy to secure and adjust the shoe’s fit. The throwback classics are a part of Nike’s latest line and were added to the collection in 2022.
However, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen toggle-laced sneakers on Bieber or other celebrities. Most recently, our favorite fashion tastemakers, including Emily Ratajakowski, have been donning Salomon’s XT-6 sneakers. The lacing detail is a gorpcore signature, a popular trend that shows no signs of slowing down. But what makes these Air Max ’95s really stand out it’s gorpcore details combined with the late ’90s-Y2K era metallic upper and futuristic Air Max bubble that make it so on-trend for 2023.
