It looks like all the Chanel ambassadors were taking a hiatus this week.
First Margot Robbie, and now Penelope Cruz.
The Spanish actress attended the opening of Lancôme’s first pop-up store in Madrid on Wednesday (March 15) as part of her role as their global brand ambassador, having featured in their latest campaign for the La Vie Est Belle fragrance.
I was surprised. No shocked. Actually, I was floored when I saw the actress wearing a dress from the Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2023 Haute Couture collection.
The ‘80s inspired mini dress is a world (or three lifetimes) away from the tweed dresses she has been contracted to wear for so many years.
I adore the pop of colour from the asymmetrical ruffled detail that wrapped around the LDB.
This mini dress gives her such a youthful, effervescent glow, and I’m ready to see more like this, but I have a feeling it might be one a done occasion, as this wasn’t a well-publicised event.
Styled with gorgeous gold drop earrings, and black accessories she said on Instagram, “Last night I had the pleasure of attending Lancôme’s opening party for its first pop-up store in Madrid. A magical evening celebrating the new campaign of La Vie Est Belle of which I am proud to be an ambassadress,” with the hastags #Lancome #TheHappinessHouse
She might have missed one #TheHappinessThatIDidntHaveToWearThatHouse.
Thanks to Alvaro who shared this event with me, which didn’t appear on Getty so I would have missed it.
Imagine the internet meltdown if she didn’t wear Chanel when she co-chairs the 2023 Met Gala this year.
