There’s an unexpected new member of the dark hair and blunt bangs club: Cara Delevingne. We’re glad she adopted the look, since considering there are shockingly few celebrities who sport it. There’s Zooey Deschanel, Dakota Johnson, Lily Collins, Kerry Washington (sometimes), Anne Hathaway (on and off)—and that’s kind of it? It’s surprising, considering how cute the combination is.
Fortunately, Cara Delevingne has never been afraid to be a beauty pioneer. Normally on Team Blonde, the Suicide Squad star was spotted in New York City on Monday looking absolutely nothing like she normally does. In addition to a dramatic black ensemble with a frilly peplum and bold red accessories in the form of platforms, gloves, and oversized sunglasses, she wore a hairstyle unlike any we’ve seen on her before.
The model-turned-actor’s hair was a rich shade of dark brown; it extends past her shoulders in smooth, sculpted waves, and it’s topped off with super-blunt baby bangs that hover nearly an inch above her sunglasses.
Now we’re wondering: Is Delevingne’s new signature style? Sadly, probably not. The new look was crafted for her previously unannounced character in the new season of American Horror Story. The cameras caught her talking to costar and longtime series regular Emma Roberts, whose own long, blonde hair was, in fact, still long and blonde. (For now, at least.)
Kim Kardashian reportedly has a rather large part in the new season as well, so we’re eager to see if she, too, may be spotted with a completely uncharacteristic hairstyle.
