Miley Cyrus dressed in Versace attends The Daily Front Row's Seventh Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards at The Beverly...

Sorry, Dolly Parton! Looks like Miley Cyrus went against your wishes and ditched her blonde hair.

The 30-year-old attended the The Daily Front Row’s Fashion Los Angeles Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, April 23, with a brand-new look. Well, an old look, really. Cyrus traded her signature grown-out platinum for a playfully two-toned “Gemini” style featuring her natural brunette color. To the left of her center-part, the singer’s hair is a cool dark blonde, while on the right, she went for warm chocolate brown.

There’s no way to know if this look is a pit stop on the road to full brunette, or if the two-toned look is here to stay. This is Miley Cyrus, so anything could happen.

During an appearance on the Today show last year, Cyrus teased that she’d been contemplating a hair color change-up. However, when she consulted godmother Parton, the 76-year-old was less than thrilled. “She clutched her pearls, gasped, and went back, and she goes, ‘You can’t do that. You are me.’”

Cyrus, who released her latest album, Endless Summer Vacation, last month, has been sporting a platinum blonde shag for a few years now, but elder millennials will recall that the OG, Disney-era Miley was all about that waist-length mermaid wave. Her signature brunette waves were, after all, how we differentiated Miley from her Hannah Montana alter ego. So, yeah, kind of iconic.
