Love and lust are still alive in the Reynolds-Lively kingdom. It Ends With Us star Blake Lively openly thirsted for her husband, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, on Instagram, because listen, why would you not?

The pair spent Memorial Day Weekend relaxing out of town (probably at their place upstate?), where Lively snapped a pic of Reynolds sitting in the sun, muscular arms bared, wedding ring prominent. Reynolds posted the picture to his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Summer in New York makes me sorry for the way I treated winter in New York,” which doesn’t make a ton of sense just, like, as a statement, but the vibe is nice.

Lively reposted the pic to her own Stories with a bunch of stickers, one that says “caution: extra spicy” and another that’s a chili pepper wearing a sombrero with a mustache. Also some hot sauce stickers. You can see the full collection on Page Six.

Now, bear with me, I have a theory about why this post is significant to the current WGA strike. As you may have heard, the Writers Guild of America, which Reynolds is part of, is currently on strike, which means no new material can be generated, including off-the-cuff remarks that make it into the final film. Reynolds is known to ad-lib and improvise a lot in his movies, which is why it’s sort of strange that he’s currently filming Deadpool 3 amid the strike. He has to stick to the script exactly. And sure, Marvel movies are probably on a tight timeline, but you’d think they’d wait a month or two to see if the strike would end before rolling tape, no? Well, here’s where my theory comes in: Reynolds is tired. He has four kids. He’s made two of these movies already. And the only way you get visible abs is by dehydrating yourself so your skin sticks to your muscle (ask Zac Efron), and Reynolds wants to get this movie in the can so he can eat a sandwich. I swear, I was talking about this with people yesterday.
