Halima Aden Returns as Vogue Arabia Cover Star

The Somali-American supermodel, who stepped away from modelling in 2020, became the first person to front any Vogue title wearing a hijab when she appeared on the cover of Vogue Arabia in 2017.

Returning for the May 2023 issue, Aden speaks with Vogue Arabia editor-in-chief, Manuel Arnaut, about her experiences as a refugee and reflects on her decision to step away from the fashion industry three years ago.

Aden, who has walked the runway for brands including Yeezy, Fenty and Tommy Hilfiger, told BoF in September last year that she had signed with Creative Arts Agency as part of her plan to return to fashion.
