Scarlett Johansson made her first red carpet appearance of the year for the ‘Asteroid City’ Cannes Film Festival premiere this evening in France.
Believe me when I say I tried EVERYTHING to make myself fall in love with Scarlett’s pink Prada gown, but I’m struggling.
Firstly, this peek-a-boo bra from the dress style was executed much more successfully by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Fendi Couture at the same event.
Secondly, the scuba fabric appears so stiff.
Thirdly, the darts remind me of Anne Hathaway’s 2013 Oscar dress which was widely criticised at the time.
Fourthly, the shade of red lip is so harsh for Scarlett, and for this shade of pink.
And lastly, as much as the majority of you didn’t like Lily James’ Miu Miu look for the ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’ London premiere – which also featured a peek-a-boo bra from the dress – I feel that was more successful than this outing
I like the idea, but the execution didn’t work for me.
