Emma Stone's careful color coordination is perfect for the summer season.

Emma Stone is back. The Oscar-winning actor didn’t necessarily go anywhere, to my knowledge, but it has been a while since she’s done a press cycle, and thusly put her spin on classic feminine style on full display.

At the 2023 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park in Jersey City on Saturday, June 3, Stone seemed to be inspired by the summer sun in a carefully curated yellow and white ensemble that was simultaneously elegant and casual. Stone, in Louis Vuitton, wore a textured knit crewneck short-sleeve top with white and yellow stripes tucked into a white tiered miniskirt with gold embellishments.

She accessorized with white slingback block heels, a white bag with a thick shoulder strap, brown wayfarer-style sunglasses, and gold hoops that echo the gold dots on her skirt. Stone brightened up the look with a bold red lip, proving once and for all that berry lipstick is not just for the holidays. She wore her signature red hair, which is currently cut in a blunt bob, in soft, beachy waves. Her nails were painted white, indicating that the La La Land star probably doesn’t know about Tom Sandoval‘s whole thing.

This coming fall and the ensuing awards season will likely be filled with a lot of Emma Stone, who is starring in Poor Things from The Favourite director Yorgos Lanthimos. The film also features Margaret Qualley, Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, and Jerrod Carmichael. Poor Things is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by Alasdair Gay, and hits theaters September 8. Here’s a description:

“Brought back to life by an unorthodox scientist, a young woman runs off with a lawyer on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, she grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.” Can’t wait.
