Diane Kruger attended the New York City All That Glitters Diwali Ball held at The Pierre Hotel on Saturday (October 28) in New York City.
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights with its variations also celebrated in other Indian religions, so the actress wore a custom Atelier Prabal Gurung red gown which married traditional elements of a saree with modern elements we are used to seeing on the red carpet.
It was a seamless marriage for me, on account that if this wasn’t an event celebrating the Hindu festival, this gown wouldn’t feel out of place on any other red carpet.
Diane styled her look with Chopard peacock earrings from the Animal World Collection, plus white gold and blue sapphires rings from the Haute Joaillerie Collection which are beautiful, but I’m not 100% convinced they complemented her gown.
A red gown is a bold and expressive choice, so I feel that yellow gold or Smoky Quartz would have worked better as they are colours which exude a warm tone.
