The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, in partnership for the second year with CHANEL, hosted the Academy Women’s Luncheon in Los Angeles on Thursday (November 9), bringing together women from all facets of the filmmaking community to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the Academy Gold Fellowship for Women, the Academy’s program to support emerging women filmmakers.
As you would expect from a Chanel event, there were plenty of tweed sets on the red carpet, but considering Kristen Stewart has been a Chanel ambassador for a decade now, I’m not surprised to see her step outside the expected luncheon look for something different.
When judging a Kristen look, I must consult my bias and my brain.
Both tell me that this Chanel Fall 2023 black and pink embroidered silk jacket styled with black trousers, was yet another effortlessly cool outing from the actress which she made her own.
I’m also excited to see the runway version on the red carpet in the near future.
America Ferrera, who delivered a keynote presentation at the event, wore a Chanel Fall 2023 pink and black fantasy wool tweed jacket, without the matching knickerbockers sadly.
They would have been more fun, but perhaps not keynote presenter appropriate, so black leather pants it was.
I always judge Ashley Park’s looks on her accessories first, but a look you can go crazy on the accessories with, is a Chanel black and white glittered fantasy tweed dress.
This was the most ladies-who-lunch look at this event.
I absolutely love seeing Eva Longoria in Chanel.
I think the last time we saw her in Chanel was back in 2007 for her civil service wedding to Tony Parker.
Every part of this look is oozing with elegance and sophistication with the key being the tweed blazer.
I’m glad to see that Greta Lee didn’t skip the knickerbockers from this Chanel Fall 2023 black and silver figured velvet look.
H.E.R. may have been wearing a Chanel black fantasy tweed jacket from the Spring 2023 collection, but it was feeling very Fall-like thanks to the fabrication.
The singer is a trousers-all-the-time kinda girl, so this mini is a rarity.
I adore the orange, black, pink and white hues of Lily-Rose Depp’s Chanel fantasy tweed suit from the Resort 2024 collection, which she styled with Chanel Fine Jewelry, especially considering the darker hues which dominated this red carpet.
Lupita Nyong’o was shimmering in black and silver glittered tweed suit from the Chanel Pre-Fall 2023 collection which bears all the hallmarks of a classic Chanel look.
Not only is it crafted from tweed, but the cut gives the look a decidedly contemporary finish.
Chanel’s newest ambassador Riley Keough’s M.O. for this event was, “when it comes to tweed, more is more” as she wore a shimmering gold and white tweed suit from the Chanel Spring 2023 Haute Couture collection.
Chanel Fine Jewelry Comète earrings and ring in 18K white gold and diamonds, Coco Crush’ earrings in 18K white and yellow gold with diamonds completed her look.
