It may be Thanksgiving (Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating), and you weren’t expecting any gala gown glamour today, but let me introduce you to Ashley Park who shut down the red carpet this evening (November 23) for the VOGUE Forces of Fashion event in Shanghai, China, which is a celebration of innovation and creativity in fashion, culture, and lifestyle.
Ashley Park has been an enduring source of inspiration for Andrew Kwon since the inception of his brand in 2021.
Their connection, both personal and creative as Korean-Americans, has deepened over time, making this collaboration a heart-warming and artistic union.
Andrew Kwon created this breath-taking custom gown in an ethereal gold silk duchess satin which combines a spectrum of golden shades with the designer’s signature grandiose bow and an elegantly sweeping red carpet train.
The hand-draped bodice, adorned with another signature to Andrew Kwon pieces features an intricate tulle drapery and exquisite 3D floral embroideries, drawing inspiration from Andrew’s bridal and debut evening wear collections—a true testament to the seamless fusion of artistry and fashion.
A defining element of this creation is the modern exposed corsetry featured on the back, a contemporary twist on a classic motif that adds depth and allure to the ensemble.
As you have probably noticed, I have been really enjoying Ashley’s red carpet looks lately, and this is no exception.
