Rachel Zegler seems to be going the theme-dressing route for promoting Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Remember the glamorous black dresses worn by Zoë Kravitz, who channeled Catwoman for during red carpets for screenings of Batman? Or, more recently, Margot Robbie’s fashion marathon, transforming herself into a life-size Barbie at various screenings around the world?
For the European premiere of Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Rachel paid tribute—get it?—to the franchise’s original heroine, Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence.
The dress is a reference to the famous, fiery look worn by Lawrence’s character in Catching Fire, the second film in the franchise. In the film, it’s designed for her by Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) as a reveal; it starts as a white wedding dress, but she spins to reveal the Mockingjay dress, a symbol of the rebellion.
