Isabelle Huppert attended the opening ceremony and ceremony of the 20th anniversary of the 2023 Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco this weekend.
The actress wore Balenciaga for both occasions, and without beating around the bush, I don’t like either of them.
The issue is, we have a barometer in which to measure both gowns against her previous outings in Balenciaga, and these are by far the most uninspired.
While I like the colour of this asymmetric draped stretch-jersey gown, I’m not wowed or excited about the style at all, and that was always my default setting with Isabelle on the red carpet.
Then we have a Morticia Addams-inspired Balenciaga gown from the Spring 2024 collection.
It just swallows her whole, and this is further proof to me that perhaps the Isabelle Huppert x Balenciaga well has run dry.
