The Bottega Veneta school, Accademia Labor et Ingenium, is now open

Bottega Veneta unveils Accademia Labor et Ingenium, a school that will foster and pass on the brand’s know-how from generation to generation.

Accademia Labor et Ingenium is located in northern Italy, just between the Bottega Veneta ateliers in Montebello Vicentino and Povolaro Dueville. The permanent establishment will provide workshops, training activities, and courses for both their employees, new hires, and external students who are interested.

The main program is an annual training course for external students with guaranteed employment at Bottega Veneta. The courses will be taught by five of the brand’s artisanal masters. On the other hand, it will also be a skill centre for up-skilling and re-skilling existing employees in order to strengthen their connection with the brand.

Collaborative training programs with regional partners will also take place. The first-ever external collaboration has already begun on October 16, 2023 with University IUAV in Venice. The ‘Artisanal Creative Process: Training Course in Bag Design & Product Development’ is a seven-week masterclass that offers eight students a bespoke program of atelier-based learning. A sneak peek into the curriculum sees the prototyping and production of different bag designs and finishes, the learning of luxury market insights, and the development of professional communication.

The establishment of Accademia Labor et Ingenium marks Bottega Veneta’s deep commitment to artisan knowledge. It will be a place where decades-long craftsmanship meets brand-new creativity. This is stated in the brand’s founding value: Labor et Ingenium, ‘craft and creativity.’
