After giving us her best Bad Gal Ri Ri impression last week, Lupita Nyong’o was back to her whimsical self wearing a Chanel Spring 2022 Haute Couture yellow and white embossed lace dress accented with jeweled braided straps.
Is this way too summery for this time of year?
Yes. But this kind of vibrant energy is what I love to see from Lupita.
I wouldn’t change a single thing. Even her footwear is on point, which has always been her achilles heels (no pun intended).
America Ferrera really should have made this Chanel Resort 2023 pink and blue multi-coloured fantasy tweed dress part of her summer ‘Barbie’ promo tour wardrobe.

Camila Morrone took a rare night off wearing black for this Chanel Fall 2022 Haute Couture petticoated dress styled with a beautiful stole embroidered with fringed floral motifs.
Sadly, her shoes just didn’t work with this dress.
Dua Lipa is having a moment with sheer dresses.
You might be surprised that this black lace jumpsuit worn over a black muslin dress is from Chanel Pre-Fall 2020 collection, as the label isn’t known for their sheer looks.
I mean. Greta Gerwig in Chanel was never going to yield the same results as her Brandon Maxwell look.
I don’t think this Chanel Pre-Fall 2023 dress is all that bad. But the styling is very lacklustre.

Margaret Qualley wore a Chanel Fall 2023 Haute Couture ennobled lace metallic blue strappy over-dress with Chanel Fine Jewelry, with looked better without the under-dress.
Sofia Coppola received the Visionary Award, wearing a Chanel atelier-pleated navy dress accented with black embroidered belt, inspired by look 19, from the Spring 2020 Haute Couture collection.
I much prefer Sofia’s version. The contrasting collars and cuffs would have been too busy for her.
She always knows what works best for her.
My favourite were Lupita Nyong’o, Sofia Coppola and Dua Lipa.
