The 2024 AFI Awards might have been a luncheon, but that didn’t stop Carey Mulligan serving up evening glamour while attending the event in Beverly Hills this afternoon.
The British actress styled her Agent Provocateur Scarlie corset with a Bottega Veneta skirt accented with sculptural detail from the Fall 2023 collection.
Some might think that Carey was slightly overdressed, especially considering how many floral ladies-who-lunch style dresses graced this red carpet.
But it is clear to me that Carey has a very specific style code this awards season, as her looks have all been black and fitted.
Don’t be surprised if she continues this run until Oscar night when she will completely switch gears on us and wear an epic ball gown like she did for the event in 2021.
