Gugu Mbatha-Raw attended a photocall for her new comedy film, ‘Lift’ held at Corinthia Hotel in London earlier today.
When it comes to this JW Anderson Padlock strap leather suit, I have to say it completely caught me off guard.
I think I have grown so used to seeing the British actress in ethereal dresses from Erdem and Dior, that I never thought a look like this would make up part of her style repertoire.
Perhaps the idea was to serve up something boisterous as Gugu is on tour with Kevin Hart, who I would imagine keeps you on your toes.
This lilac hue is a great colour for her, and I also like the fit of the suit, but Gugu lost me with the tapered drawstring cuffed trousers, and how they are fighting for space with her boots.
I wish she had opted for a pair of a fun pair of The Attico pumps.
Nonetheless I do love seeing the actress step outside her comfort-zone.
