Sabato De Sarno is shaking things up at Gucci – and this movement is echoed loud and clear in the campaign for his debut Spring/Summer 2024 collection, titled Gucci Ancora.
The campaign is shot by David Sims – the first photographer De Sarno worked with since he had his start in fashion – and captures the clean, timeless and alluring pieces of the collection. De Sarno opted to feature new faces Ana Rossolovich, Fadia Ghaab, Jiahui Zhang, Nyajuok Gatdet and Violet Hume for Gucci Ancora, which each woman presented “as they are”, allowing their own beauty to shine through. This idea of uniqueness, freedom and confidence is central to De Sarno’s debut collection.
Evoking a clean aesthetic that goes seamlessly with the collection’s theme, the campaign sees Gucci’s fresh faces in a palette of lime green, burgundy and navy. On the acccessories front, the Jackie 1961 bag takes centrestage in glossy patent, bejewelled and two-tone versions alongside chunky gold-tone jewellery.
Things are changing at Gucci, and we can’t wait to see what else De Sarno has up his sleeves come Milan Fashion Week in February.
