Selena Gomez would like to set the record straight about what she was really, actually, truly telling Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. (Yes, we’re still talking about this.)
On Tuesday, January 9, a full 48 hours after the show ended, Gomez left a comment on an E! News Instagram post which had posed the question, “Was Selena Gomez Gossiping About Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet at [the] Golden Globes?”
Gomez answered the query loud and clear: “Noooooo.”
“I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up,” the 31-year-old wrote. “Not that that’s anyone business.” (She does have a point there, my friends!)
On any other night, a surprising hookup would be good gossip—great gossip, even! But after amateur lip readers suggested that Gomez had really been telling her besties about a photo snub from Timothée Chalamet and his new flame, Kylie Jenner, that good good goss got lost in the aftermath. Sometimes a fake rumor trumps a real one, and hell hath no fury like a stan with a juicy theory and access to social media.
Gomez is the third person to refute the idea that anything had happened between her, Jenner, and Chalamet, and hopefully, her word will be final. (For more on all the drama, click here.)
Now that we’ve cleared all that up, we can finally get back to more important and pressing issues, like, for example, was Taylor Swift trying to tell us something with that glittery green Globes dress? Maybe something about her “Reputation?” I need answers.
