For a private pizza party in Brooklyn with bestie Blake Lively on Wednesday, January 10, Taylor Swift stepped out wearing yet another green dress—but that’s not the Reputation-coded detail on which fans are fixated.

Swifties homed in on the singer’s thigh-high boots from Jimmy Choo’s collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier (Julia Fox is also a fan), which feature “tattoos” of snakes at the knee.

The boots, which are meant to look like tattooed skin, also feature tattoo-inspired images of chains, a crown of thorns, and intricate, almost tribal patterns, making them one of the most edgy pieces in Swift’s wardrobe. The 34-year-old singer kept the rest of her outfit more tame, opting for a long-sleeve crushed velvet minidress, sheer black tights, and a black leather top-handle bag.

If you’re keeping track, this is Swift’s third green dress of the week, following her lime green Gucci gown at the Golden Globes and Tuesday night’s emerald sweater dress.

Naturally, fans immediately jumped to conclusions—namely that Ms. Swift is teasing the rerelease of 2017’s Reputation, the edgiest album in her catalog which is memorable for its snake motif. Specifically, the snake emoji. Which is green. (She’s really not being subtle at this point, guys.)

Meanwhile, Lively’s look was giving “The Weather app? Never heard of her.” The 36-year-old wore a leather miniskirt in 40-degree weather, which may not sound that cold, but it was windy in NYC last night!

Perhaps Lively is just built different. Or maybe her outfit is another Taylor Swift Easter egg that couldn’t wait for warmer weather? I’ll leave it to the Swifties to figure that one out.
