When it comes to the red carpet, Anne Hathaway seems to scatter lust-worthy hair trends like confetti. And this weekend was no different.

At the 30th annual SAG Awards on February 24, Hathaway re-united with her co-stars from The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, to present the best male actor in a comedy series award.

She wore an off-the-shoulder archival Versace gown from 2018 and, in an interview exchange, agreed that the shade was cerulean—a nod to her character in the hit movie, Andy Sachs, when she discovers that the sweater she’s wearing is not just blue, but a very important, specific shade called cerulean.

Nostalgia aside, it was her voluminous XXL blowout and ultra-shiny hair that really stole the show. Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel, who created the look, told Glamour UK that he wanted to bring out the ’90s supermodel vibe with a lot of hair and movement. He wanted it to “exude bombshell and confidence,” he notes.

“The look is anchored by a middle part with height, right at the crown, and is accented with face-framing bangs,” Adir says, adding that these create “beautiful cascading movement” and that “the hair is full of volume and bounce—and feels luxe.”

Adir prepped the hair with Virtue Labs’ Damage Reverse Serum (currently only available in the US) and Volumizing Mousse, before rough drying the hair with the Shark FlexStyle. He then tells us that he used the Shark FlexStyle Auto-Wrap Curlers to create a classic barrel curl, after which he set and pinned each section in place. Once it had cooled, he brushed the hair out with a Mason Pearson brush before applying Virtue’s Healing Oil for added shine. For the finishing touch, Adir backcombed the crown area to create extra height and fixed the look in place with the Texturizing Spray.

The 41-year-old Oscar winner then swapped her mini beehive for loose waves at the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards on February 25, where she was nominated for best supporting performance for her role in the thriller Eileen.
