Taylor Swift Super Bowl

Last September when Taylor Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs home game, she changed NFL in many ways. Her romance with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce opened up a whole new chapter for America. Attending 12 games of the football season, the singer songwriter made heads turn with her appearances. At her Super Bowl 2024 appearance on February 12, Taylor Swift once again stole the show as she flew down from Tokyo, Japan to support her boyfriend at his crucial championship game.

Swift, who has been in the midst of her wildly popular Eras Tour, wrapped up a four-day stop in Japan on Saturday, the day before Super Bowl 58. She arrived in Las Vegas on time to watch Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers. From netizens to NFL experts, everyone had been discussing whether the singer would be able to make her 13th appearance (yes, 13 is her lucky number!) for the Chiefs’ game, and she did!

The hype around the singer’s attendance had been so extensive that the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C. also jumped on the bandwagon in to issue a statement reassuring fans that it was possible for Swift to “wow Japanese audiences and still make it to Las Vegas to support the Chiefs.” The statement also maintained that despite the 12-hour flight and a 17-hour time difference, the singer could make it in time for the game if she departed Tokyo in the evening after her concert.

Taylor not only arrived at the Super Bowl game but also brought several of her celebrity friends along to cheer for her boyfriend. She was accompanied by her mom Andrea Swift, Blake Lively, Ice Spice and Ashley Avignone. The singer made her entry into the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas wearing an all-black outfit that complemented Kelce’s shimmery, rockstar-worthy pre-game ensemble. Swift chose a Dion Lee corset-style crochet knit top. She was also carrying a bomber jacket by Erin Andrews.

While the game began a little slowly for the Chiefs, at one point during the game Kelce looked quite unhappy with the way things were going for his team. He was also caught screaming at head coach Andy Reid on the sideline. An antsy Kelce looked charged up from the beginning, and with Swift watching in the stands, his team clinched the big win, making his team the first repeat Super Bowl champs in 19 years and ninth overall.

Following the Chiefs’ big win, fans have been celebrating the power couple for their achievements considering Taylor recently won her fourth Grammy for Album of the Year.

There’s no denying that this NFL season — Super Bowl 2024 included — has been a Taylor Swift era. With each appearance where she cheered on Kelce from the stands, the singer made a mark with her style as well as her bonding with the footballer’s family. From her hug with Mama Kelce (Donna Kelce, Travis’ mum) to her newfound friendship with Brittany Mahomes (the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes) and her kiss with Kelce after the Super Bowl win, it has all been a never-seen-before Taylor’s version.
