On Monday, Kathryn Newton attended the LA premiere of ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ held at the Hollywood Athletic Club.
The actress wore a bewitching Vera Wang black corseted gown enriched with tulle from the Spring 2024 collection, which is every teenage goth girls dream.
So why didn’t this work?
Some might feel that she should have kept the contrasting light blue tulle layer which not only matched type on the backdrop but was also oozing with a witches cauldron vibe that would have amped up the theme.
But my issue is that all the drama – the bottom half of the gown with the tulle layers – is completely lost on the black carpet.
Kathryn really worked hard on this red carpet to keep the spirit and the vision alive, but you got a better sense of the gown from the photoshoot which she posted to her Instagram.
