I know the general consensus is that Virginie Viard doesn’t create enough custom gowns for Chanel ambassadors, so you’ll be delighted to know that this off-the-shoulder gown is a custom creation inspired by the Chanel Spring 2024 Haute Couture collection.
Penelope loves a ball gown moment, and a navy blue dress, so I’m glad the pink runway version of this dress wasn’t a consideration, as it feels better suited to a Gen-Z entertainer.
I would say that this look doesn’t come close to the Goya Awards gown which is her best Chanel red carpet look since the 2023 Met Gala, but I will commend the label for giving her a version of this gown which was better suited to her.
