Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams basically turned the premiere of Tyler Perry’s Netflix movie Mea Culpa into a Destiny’s Child reunion. The trio teamed up to support Rowland, who produced and starred in the film, at the Paris Theatre in New York on February 15.
Queen Bey showed up in a black-and-white ensemble with a Western edge, featuring a black fur coat, a hypnotic swirl print Balmain minidress with a hood, cowboy-boot-inspired mules with a spiky heel, sporty sunglasses, and a Balmain briefcase. The “Texas Hold ’Em” crooner was joined by her rapper husband, Jay-Z, plus her mother, Tina Knowles.
“Dats my best friend! Dats my best friend!!!!!” Beyoncé later wrote in an Instagram tribute to Rowland and her premiere. “So proud of you Kelly.”
Michelle Williams, who graced the red carpet in a chili-pepper-hued custom Anthony Lattimore look with long statement sleeves, couldn’t help but gush to Entertainment Tonight about Rowland’s “leading lady” moment and how long she’s been “manifesting” it.
“She has been talking about how acting just gives her life, so to see it being shown to the world [is] something that she’s been talking about for a long time,” the singer said of her former Destiny’s Child collaborator. “It’s awesome. I’m excited.”
