Lupita Nyong’o is the president of the Berlin International Film Festival jury, where she will lead the selection of the winning films in the two main categories, Golden and Silver Bears.

‘Small Things Like These’ Berlin Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Usually, I will start with the photocall, but I am so excited about her opening ceremony Gucci gown.

When I first saw this picture, it took me back to September 7, 2013, when Lupita first stepped onto the red carpet wearing Prada for the ’12 Years A Slave’ Toronto Film Festival premiere.

It’s hard to believe that was over 10 years ago.

That’s not me comparing the dresses – even though they are both white and embellished – more the moment, as Lupita has been away from major red carpets for quite some time, so the feeling of freshness and newness has me excited all over again.

We’ve seen many guises of Lupita, but just like back then, this is all about the simplicity of the dress, her beauty, and of course the signature bold lip colour.

This sent a tingle down my spine.  I’m so excited to see her on the world stage again.

De Beers jewels completed her look.

International Jury photocall

The photocall suit from BOSS was to be expected in considering her role as president, but the focus of this look was stolen by the Lafalaise Dion headpiece.
