Charli XCX joined a host of her peers on the red carpet for The BRIT Awards 2024 on Saturday evening in London.
You couldn’t miss her in this custom Marni gown designed by Creative Director, Francesco Risso.
At quick glance you could deem this as a simple patchwork gown, but the magic really starts from the translucent resin bust which is meticulously applied onto a patchwork base of silk, chiffon and lace.
Her gown is reminiscent of the sophisticated boudoir aesthetic, as it features a wide drape and an exposed cut at the rear featuring long silk ribbons, which emphasise the silhouette and the sense of femininity.
The pastel tones of pink, light blue and yellow blend with eden green through barely visible stitches amplifying the handwork approach imbued in the construction of this one-of-a-kind creation.
Charli was a walking work of art.
I love that we are seeing more custom Marni creations on the red carpet.
Some might be turned off by Charli’s dramatic silver eyeshadow, but Charli has always been very rebellious, so the summery shades of the gown are more shocking to me than the makeup.
