Renowned artistic director Stéphane Ashpool has unveiled his latest designs for the French Olympic and Paralympic teams, paying homage to both the athletes and the vibrant city of Paris, where his creativity first flourished. Inspired by the City of Lights’ fashion forward reputation and elegance, Ashpool’s collection celebrates diversity and unity, reflecting the spirit of the quadrennial event that embraces sports, cultures, and generations.

What does it mean to him to be able to design the collection? Speaking on the privilege himself, Stéphane shares with Wonderland, “It’s a great honour to design the collection for our French Olympic and Paralympic athletes. It’s once in a lifetime that it’s happening here in France and I’m born in Paris so it’s even a greater honour to be involved. How I chose to reflect France through the pieces, I wanted to blend French elegance with a modern twist and a lifestyle aspect of it. I wanted to recreate the flag by blending the blue in the white, the white in the red in order to create new colors. Diversity of body, sport and cultures. I stand for a multicultural France, it was my way to express it.”

In just four months, spectators will witness the breathtaking pieces, produced by Le Coq Sportif. In a collection where diversity is woven into the very fabric of the designs, Ashpool blends materials and colours to create a tapestry of unity. From classic blues, whites and reds, he breathes new life into these traditional hues, infusing them with his visionary touch.
