And your new Bachelorette is…Jenn Tran!
Following the latest Bachelor finale, which saw Joey Graziadei get engaged to Kelsey Anderson, it was up to host Jesse Palmer to reveal the franchise’s next leading lady during the After the Final Rose special. At the live taping, it was announced that 26-year-old Jenn Tran would be handing out her own batch of roses next season.
“This experience is absolutely crazy and all I can hope is for [the men] to really open up their heart to this because that’s what I did and I got so much out of it,” said Tran, per People. “You know, it didn’t end the way that I wanted to, but I grew and I learned so much from it … I really hope that they ready to have some frickin fun.” Tran, a physician’s assistant student, was eliminated during week seven of Graziedei’s season.
Tran will also make history as the first Asian American Bachelorette in the franchise’s 20 seasons. “I feel so so grateful and so honored to be the first Asian bachelorette in this franchise,” she said. “And now to be here today saying in this position being like I am going to lead my own love story, I am going to be the main character in my story—like I just can’t help but think of how many people I’m inspiring.”
According to a press release from ABC, “Tran is a sweet and compassionate woman who has dedicated her life to helping others and is currently studying to become a physician assistant. The bilingual Vietnamese beauty currently resides in Miami and is ready to find love with a man who’s as reliable and thoughtful as she is. When she’s not studying, Tran loves reading, paddleboarding and traveling whenever she has the chance.”
