The 2024 EMIGALA Awards (a fashion and beauty award ceremony) took place on Sunday at the Festival Bay by Dubai Festival City Mall.
While there were many local celebrities in attendance, Fan Bingbing shut down the red carpet in a manner that only a red carpet queen can.
The Chinese actress wore two looks on the night, with the first being from the Stéphane Rolland Spring 2023 Haute Couture collection.
I was immediately in awe of this hooded golden embellished gown as it is unlike anything we have ever seen from the actress before.
What I love about this current era of Fan Bingbing’s style is her experimenting with more dynamic and unexpected silhouettes, as we saw the last time she wore Stéphane Rolland, and at the Busan Film Festival last year.
If you look up the definition of the word fashion, it reads: a popular way of dressing.
To me, Fan Bingbing is fashion, but no one dresses like this, so the definition needs to be redefined.
Some of the pictures of her from this event are breathtaking. She just doesn’t operate on the same level as anyone else.
Alaïa will always be the hooded connoisseur, but Stéphane Rolland’s designs are running a close second in terms of their beauty and their ability to stir emotions in me.
