Lauryn Hill Made A Surprise Appearance At Coachella Wearing Balmain

Lauryn Hill, the famously reclusive singer, and rapper made a surprise appearance on stage the first weekend of Coachella, as she joined her son YG Marley’s set.

Her son took to the stage on Sunday afternoon, then 15 minutes into his set, Lauryn joined in and ran through a number of her solo hits before performing some Fugees hits with Wyclef.

“Ex-Factor,” “Lost Ones,” “Killing Me Softly,” “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La” all made it to the setlist, with YG filling in for Pras‘ parts on “Ready or Not.”

Lauryn rocked the stage wearing a Balmain Fall 2024 menswear suit featuring a black and yellow colour-blocked print by Ghanaian visual artist Prince Gyasi, which was layered with a black shirt.

With multi-colour beads in her hair and sky-blue eyeshadow, her performance reminds us that she really is one of the greatest voices of our time, with a bold sense of style to match.

If you know much about Lauryn’s on-stage style, you will know that this is relatively muted by her standards.

If you don’t, you may feel that she is doing too much.
