Taylor Swift has not returned to Coachella since she and her platinum blonde bob attended the festival to support then-boyfriend Calvin Harris in 2016. Eight years later, Swift is dating Kelce while Harris is married to sneaky Swiftie Vick Hope. “As soon as my husband goes away, I listen to Taylor Swift,” Hope recently said on her BBC Radio 1 show, Going Home With Vick, Katie, and Jamie, per People. “That’s just when I get my little fill—just a little fill. Just a couple of songs, get it out of my system, and then it’s done.”
This year, it seemed obvious that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce would make an appearance at Coachella, considering the pair has been spending a lot of time in LA during Kelce’s off-season and Swift’s break from the Eras Tour. “I am a Coachella guy,” the tight end recently told People. “I love going to Coachella. I love live music in general. So you might see me pop up over there at some point.”
Though Kelce didn’t say which weekend he planned on attending, many thought they would make an appearance on opening night, as many of Swift’s inner circle were scheduled to perform. Not only was Del Rey accompanied by Antonoff during her set, but Eras Tour opener Sabrina Carpenter and close friend Suki Waterhouse were also on the lineup. Instead, the “Anti-Hero” singer brought her NFL boyfriend to LA’s celeb hotspot Sushi Park for a low-key date night before making their way to the desert for Antonoff and Ice Spice’s big night.
It’s unlikely Swift will return to Coachella for a second weekend in a row, considering The Tortured Poets Department drops on April 19, but I’m still holding out hope for a surprise performance of “Snow on the Beach” next weekend. A girl can dream!
