There are many great reasons to visit Chicago. Whether you’re a fan of modern architecture, world-renowned sports, or delicious food, you can find it all here in the Windy City. Of course, you can’t see everything in a single trip, but here are five things you have to check out in Chicago to get a taste of what the city has to offer.

1. Eat Authentic Chicago Food

There’s no shortage of amazing food that you can sample when you stop by Chicago, but there are a few you should experience while you’re here. Get yourself an authentic Chicago deep-dish pizza or an Italian beef sandwich (hot or sweet peppers). Of course, you have to get yourself an authentic Chicago dog from Superdawg while you’re here.

2. Millennium Park

Millennium Park in Downtown Chicago is one of the most iconic open-air spots here, and it’s a great place to see the sights and sounds of the city. While you’re there, you may want to check out the Cloud Gate, or “The Bean,” as many people affectionately call it. This park is well worth the trip, and it’s a great place to relax and unwind.

3. Deer Grove West

If you’re looking for something to enjoy in the city that’s a bit more in touch with nature, we have to recommend Deer Grove West out in Palatine. This nature and wildlife resort is a great way to get out of the city for a bit and clear your head with the sights and sounds of the natural forest. It’s a beautiful grove with a lot of animals to see.

However, if you’re unfamiliar with the city, be wary when driving around Palatine, as certain corners are a common spot for traffic accidents in Chicago. Nobody wants a relaxing day in nature ruined by a fender bender.

4. Support Some Sports

Chicago has some of the greatest sports teams in the world, and you can almost always check out a game or museum dedicated to some of these players. Whether you support the Cubs, the Bulls, the White Sox, the Bears, or the Blackhawks, you can find something to enjoy. Many of the stadiums are worth a visit, even if there isn’t an active season right now. Sports are just one of those things you have to check out in Chicago, even if you don’t care about the games.

5. Chicago Observation Deck

The perfect way to end your trip to this great city is to check out the Chicago Observation Deck. This spot offers an absolutely breathtaking view of the city skyline and can create a mental picture that will last a lifetime.

Chicago is a wondrous place for food, culture, art, sports, and more. Be sure to explore your passions and interests when you stop by this amazing city.
