Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her yearly return to the red carpet for the ‘Megalopolis’ Cannes Film Festival premiere held in France this evening.
I don’t mind an overly obnoxious gown at Cannes.
Go big or go home has been my motto when it comes to red carpet at this festival, but this Falguni Shane Peacock is possibly the most overworked and overwrought gown I have ever seen, and that is saying something.
Aishwarya has always been the queen of Cannes for what feels like decades now, but for the second year in a row I’m left completely underwhelmed, and bitterly disappointed.
This gown is the living embodiment of everything but the kitchen sink. Actually, in this case, the sink is excluded because there is so much going on.
Where should the designer have stopped?
When they saw that they dropped their cornflakes on the sketch.
Imagine having the opportunity to dress one of the most beautiful women in the world and thinking that this is appropriate.
What a disaster. Which is a huge shame considering the abundance of stunning gowns I just saw on the label’s Instagram page.
As the saying goes. All good things come to an end. Her reign is over. Pack it up.
I’m going to be angry about this for a long time.
