Daniel Lee dressed eight celebrities in Burberry for the 2024 Met Gala on Monday, and this year, the creative director extended the colour palette beyond blue and black.
As we all know from this F1 paddock looks, Lewis Hamilton has a very keen interest in fashion.
So much so, that he did his own research for this custom Burberry look, which was inspired by the UK’s first black gardener, John Ystumllyn.
On the red carpet Lewis said “Through adversity, he really triumphed, so that’s where the inspiration really came from.”
Considering the adversities Lewis has faced in his career, from which he has triumphed, winning seven Formula One World Drivers’ Championship titles, the parallels are poignant.
The overcoat remains on-trend in menswear, but this one was particularly special with the hand-embroidered floral motifs symbolising pre-Civil War African culture.
A Burberry Thorn pavé necklace which symbolises hardships of slavery, along with other jewels from Briony Raymond completed his very well-thought-out look.

Bright aka Vachirawit Chivaaree’s Burberry look referenced the theme of royalty, drawing inspiration from traditional British nobility as seen in the jacket detailed with bullion floral embroidery.
